Hosting woes…and service
I’ve decided to move my dot com here. Why? I feel like I’ve had to deal with the most unprofessional people I’ve ever encountered on the net. Have you heard of Dreamhost? I’m not even going to link to them because I don’t support them and don’t think that anyone with a brain should use them. Online, I have yet to experience such poor customer service. It was clear that they did not care what was going on with me and wanted to belittle me at the same time. I thought in between the exchanges that perhaps I was speaking to a computer and not a real person, because the attitudes behind those reps just blew my mind.
I’m an extremely nice person when I want answers or a resolution to any issues I’m having. Even if a rep gives me a answer I may not like, I would never start screaming and calling them all types of B’s and F’s and C’s. I think C’s is pretty funny though, lol but I’d never call someone that especially if it’s clear that they’re doing their job. I felt like with this company I had to get on their level, and at one point I did tell them not to give me any more smart ass responses. Claws were out, but obviously this was not worth the hassle. I opened a BBB report and blocked this company from contacting me via email.
What qualifies for excellent customer service? Does it exist anymore? I used to not be one of those nit-picky people, but I just don’t like being talked down to. My boyfriend pretty much turned me into a turtle with these types of things. I remember going out to eat with him a few weeks ago, and I felt so embarrassed. He complained about every single small insignificant detail. I’m not big on going out to eat, but he insisted and we found ourselves at a local restaurant. He ended up ordering this gigantic sandwich and when he got the sandwich, his smile turned into a grinch scowl. The wrong cheese. They put the wrong type of cheese on the sandwich. The world as we know it is over!!! Okay, I’m kidding but he went apeshit. It took alot for me not to walk out of the restaurant. I was so embarrassed by the way he spoke to the waitress. I was very apologetic to her after we finished eating, but it really irks me. All that hellraising over cheese. We could have saved some money and grilled burgers at home and bought any type of cheese he wanted from the grocery store. Then he could have been mad at himself for not having the right cheese.
So what was I talking about again? Good service? How about just treating other people with a little bit of respect. Sometimes, clearly this is easier said than done.
